Electric hoists will inevitably have some problems of one kind or another during long-term use. Some faults are relatively common. So what are these hoists’ common problems and solutions?
(1) Whether the electric hoist has electricity. You can use a test pen to determine whether the power supply system is sending power to the electric hoist power supply. If there is no power supply, wait for the power supply to restart.
(2) Damage to the electrical appliances of the main and control circuits of the hoist, disconnection of the lines, or poor contact will also cause the hoist motor to fail to be energized. In this case, it is necessary to overhaul the main and control circuits. The power supply of the three-phase motor lacks a phase and burns the motor, or the hoist motor is suddenly energized to run, causing hazards. Be sure to disconnect the hoist motor from the power line, only supply power to the main and control circuits, and then jog the start and stop switches, check and analyze the working conditions of the control electrical appliances and lines, repair or replace the problematic electrical appliances or lines, and re-test the car when it is confirmed that the main and control circuits are free of faults.
(3) The terminal voltage of the hoist motor is lower than the rated voltage by more than 10%, and the motor’s starting torque is too small, so the hoist cannot lift the goods and cannot work. When checking, use a multimeter or a voltmeter to measure the voltage at the input terminal of the motor. When the voltage is too low to make the motor start, it is necessary to wait for the system voltage to return to normal before using the electric hoist. Sometimes, the voltage of the hoist motor is normal, but the hoist just doesn’t work, and other reasons need to be considered.
(4) The braking is unreliable, and the sliding distance exceeds the specified requirements. It may be that:① the brake ring is worn out, and the spring pressure is reduced; ② there is oil on the braking surface; ③ the brake ring is loose; ④ the pressure spring is weak, and there is too much momentum.
(5) The temperature rise is too high. It may be ① overloaded use; ② too frequent operation; ③ the brake clearance is too small, and the brake ring is not completely disengaged during operation.
(6) The sound of the reducer is too loud, the motor hums or the hoisting object cannot be started after stopping halfway. It may be that: ① the lubrication is not in place; ② the power supply and the motor are out of phase; ③ the voltage is too low and fluctuates greatly; ④ overloaded lifting.
(7) It cannot be lifted after starting, or it still does not stop when it reaches the extreme position. It may be that:① the contacts of the AC contactor are welded; ② the limiter is out of order; ③ the wires inside the limiter are connected incorrectly.
