What are the issues of electric chain hoists that customers are most concerned about?

How do you install the sliding wire of the electric chain hoist

  • Electric chain hoists are mostly installed on U-shaped tracks. In view of this feature, the steel cable is arranged in the middle of the track and on the upper part of the I-beam. The steel cable uses q~10mm steel wire rope or round steel, and the end is fastened with a basket bolt.
  • The sliding ring is two rings interlocked with a certain margin to avoid the scratching of the steel cable. The steering ring is two rings connected by bolts and can rotate freely.
  • Put one end of a steering ring on the steel cable, and fix the rubber sheath wire to the lower end of the steering ring after leaving the motor lead. Put one end of multiple sliding rings on the steel cable, and then fix the rubber sheath wire in sections to the lower end of the sliding ring. The front end is connected to the motor and can move freely. The rear end is connected to the power supply.
  • Under the traction of the motor, with the steering ring as the center, the traction steel cable moves in a straight line or circle.
  • The above method can also be used for straight tracks.

This method is simple and easy to use with low cost. Since it was first used, no failure has occurred so far. It eliminates the previous problems of poor contact of the sliding wire, short circuit of the lead wire, open circuit, etc. It is now widely used with good results.

How to test the operation of the chain electric hoist before use?

  • Press the down button and operate the crane to descend until the limit spring touches the limit switch, and the motor will stop automatically.
  • Press the up button until the chain is completely recovered into the chain bag and the motor stops running.
  • Test the emergency stop switch function: press the up or down button at will, and press the economic stop switch at the same time to check whether the hook understands the stop action when the economic switch is pressed. When the emergency switch is pressed, there will be no response when other buttons are pressed again.
  • Check the lubrication of the lifting chain (the load chain has been lubricated before leaving the factory, but it may dry during transportation). Any lubricant can be used to lubricate the chain. It is recommended that you keep a small amount of lubricant in the chain bag, so that the chain in the chain bag can be immersed in the lubricant.
  • Check the directionality of the chain. All welding points should be in the same direction. Only when all chain welding points are on the same line can the operation be completely correct.

What should I do if the down-sliding distance of the chain hoist exceeds the specified requirements when braking?

When the electric chain hoist is out of service for a long time, someone may adjust the brake adjustment nut by mistake, or the brake ring may be worn too much, which may reduce the pressure of the brake spring and the braking force. When the hoist is stopped, the brake is unreliable and the down-sliding distance exceeds the specified requirements. In this case, just readjust the brake nut according to the hoist manual. However, it should be noted that it is forbidden to adjust, inspect and repair the brake when lifting heavy objects. Sometimes, after adjusting the brake nut, the down-sliding distance of the shutdown still exceeds the specified requirements. In such cases, other reasons should be considered.

First, disassemble the brake ring and check whether there is oil on the brake surface. If there is oil, the friction coefficient will be reduced, which will cause slipping during braking and the down-sliding distance will exceed the specified requirements. It is not very useful to adjust the brake nut alone. At this time, you can only thoroughly clean the brake surface (clean with light gasoline) to restore the friction coefficient of the brake surface.

Secondly, if the brake ring is loose or damaged, the brake ring cannot guarantee effective braking, and the only option is to replace the brake ring; sometimes it is found that the brake ring is not damaged, but only the brake ring has poor contact with the cone surface of the rear end cover. When braking, the brake surface has too little contact, the braking force is too small, and the sliding distance exceeds the specified requirements. During maintenance, in order to increase the braking force, the location of poor contact should be found and repaired to increase the contact surface during braking. If it cannot be repaired, the accessories need to be replaced; the coupling of the hoist motor is not moving well or stuck. After stopping, the brake ring has poor contact or cannot contact with the cone surface of the rear end cover, making the hoist braking effect good and bad. In this case, the coupling should be repaired or replaced.

In addition, the brake pressure spring will produce fatigue after long-term use, which will reduce the spring force. When the brake is not firm during shutdown, the spring should be replaced and the braking force should be readjusted.
